Ingredients
- 1 cup jowar or bajra flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup grated bottle gourd or cabbage
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Coriander, chopped, salt, water, oil
Method
- Mix the flours with the grated vegetable, onion, cumin seeds, chilli powder, coriander and salt.
- Add water gradually to form a soft, slightly sticky dough.
- Pat portions directly into thin rounds on a hot greased tawa using wet fingers (dhapate are patted like thalipeeth, but softer).
- Drizzle oil around the edges and cook covered until the base is golden.
- Flip and cook through; serve hot with curd or pickle.
