Ingredients
- 4 tbsp filter coffee powder (dark roast, coarse)
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups milk
- Sugar, to taste
Method
- Add the coffee powder to a South Indian filter's upper chamber and gently press it down without packing it too tightly.
- Pour hot (not boiling) water over the powder and let it slowly drip through into the bottom chamber — this can take 10-15 minutes, so don't rush it.
- Heat the milk separately until it's hot and slightly frothy.
- Mix the strong brewed decoction with hot milk and sugar to taste, adjusting the ratio to how strong you like it.
- Pour back and forth between two cups (or a cup and a tumbler) a few times to froth it up, then serve hot.
